Course Description

This course is intended to refresh participants knowledge on how to manage a firm’s day-to-day cash and liquidity as well as identify and manage the financial risks it faces. It is centered around a case study where Branda, recently hired as a Financial Controller, is tasked to address certain concerns raised by her superior about the firm’s ability to maintain its solvency, and how she is able to apply the concepts covered in this module.


Learning Outcomes

After this course, you will achieve the following objectives:

  • Understand the importance of working capital and treasury management
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of a firm’s working capital management
  • Identify significant liquidity, credit and market risks faced by a firm
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare a cashflow forecast, select appropriate short-term financing options and understand the importance of hedging market risk
  • Formulate strategies to ensure a firm is able to meet its financial obligations and manage its financial risks
